Dear colleagues,

Since ECRP’s inception eight years ago, we have made great strides with proud successes in raising the operational benchmarks of our Consumer Packaged Goods and Retail-Distribution industries in the Philippines to global standards.

We have impacted allied industries and service providers of logistics, transport, financial and information technology industries.  And we have made an impact internationally through our involvement with ECR Asia, hosting the 7th ECR Asia Conference in Manila last October 2004.

As we move forward, we must reaffirm our vision to pursue the single most imperative industry goal: to deliver ‘consumer value’ through fair and sustainable trade. Hence our ECR theme 2005-2007 is ‘create value to create profits’.

We create consumer value by meeting consumer demands and expectations, eliminating non-added value activities, while rewarding ECR members and proponents with fair margins and sustainable profits.

Our mission is to create the environment conducive to advancing ECR best practices; fostering industry ‘coop-petition’, cooperation among competition, through out the entire supply chain from farm to fork.

Our strategy is to generate awareness through wider understanding of ECR initiatives; to set industry standards mutually beneficial and transparent to all; to promote greater industry cooperation to realize the cost efficiencies and benefits.

In the long term, our results will be measured by one critical success factor:  Have we been fair?  Have we been fair in our obligations to our shareholders? Have we been fair in our dealings with our trade partners? Have we been fair in our dealings with our colleagues, employees and communities?  Have we been fair in our dealings with our customers? Have we been fair in delivering the best possible value to all our stakeholders?

In behalf of the ECRP Board and members, let us take up the challenge and move forward as one industry in the service of the Filipino consumer!
